What it's all about.

The Community Choosewell Challenge is re-energizing Alberta this spring and summer by recognizing communities across the province for their innovative programming, participation efforts and community partnerships that promote healthier living to residents.

A simple Challenge with big rewards.

Communities of all sizes spread the eat right and be active message and encourage residents to make changes in their physical activity and eating habits on the road to healthier living. By demonstrating their efforts and progress, communities will vie for the title of "Choosewell Champion!" All communities will be recognized for their commitment, and high achieving communities will win great prizes.

Each community will have the opportunity to showcase and receive recognition for their new and existing physical activity and healthy eating programs. Free promotional materials are available to help get each community to communicate what the challenge is all about.

The goal of the Community Choosewell Challenge is to recognize Alberta communities for their innovative programming, promotion and participation, and community partnerships on the way to achieving a healthier Alberta. The message is timely and essential and the Challenge has proven to be an effective tool in generating awareness and motivating Albertans to make healthier choices every day.

The Challenge, which takes place from March 1, 2006 to August 31, 2006, is part of the Government of Alberta's Healthy U initiative encouraging Albertans to choose well through healthy eating and active living.
