Supportive Housing
- What is Supportive Housing?
Supportive housing is mainly occupied by tenants who require support services to live independently in the community, where providers may receive funding for support services from other sources. For example, support may be required for people with mental illness, people with developmental or physical disabilities, women and children leaving abusive situations and
homeless people with substance abuse and addictions problems, poor life skills or are unemployed or have been recently discharged from institutional living arrangements. Supportive housing also includes housing for seniors such as with the Seniors Lodge Program where supports such as meals and laundry
are included with the lodging.
Please e-mail us at housing@gov.ab.ca if you have any more questions or more detail is needed.
