Responsible Gambling Information Centres are part of a new responsible
gambling pilot project launched by the province in February 2006. Over the next two years, this joint intiative with the Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission (AADAC) will help determine the effectiveness of
on-site information and support for casino gamblers. |
The pilot features a modular display in the Palace Casino in Edmonton and the Deerfoot Inn and Casino in Calgary. The centre will provide Albertans with information about the cost of play, house advantage and the Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program. Each location will be manned by a trained AADAC counselor and be open Tuesday to Saturday from noon until 8 p.m. |
