 Alberta Gaming Research Council

Printer Friendly The Alberta Gaming Research Council was established by Ministerial Order on August 24, 1999 to help direct the research activities of the Alberta Gaming Research Institute.

The council has been appointed for a three-year term and is made up of public and government representatives.

The members of the Alberta Gaming Research Council are:

  Barry PritchardVice-president of casinos for ABS. He has worked in the gaming industry for about 25 years, and is the industry representative on the council.
  Dr. Nady el-GuebalyProfessor, Department of Psychiatry, Division Chief of the Addiction Division in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary and Chair of the Alberta Gaming Research Institute.
  Eve MacMillanExecutive director of Native Addictions Services Society in Calgary. Aboriginal representative on council.
  Gus BarronPast president of the Calgary Federation of Community Leagues.
  Kent VerlikDirector of Social Responsibility - Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission
  Nick KutashRepresented Edmonton and area on the Seniors Advisory Council for Alberta since 1994. He is representing seniors on the council.
  Sheila Murphy (Chair)Served on the University of Calgary Senate from 1990 to 1996, the Air Cadet League of Canada, the Cubs and Scouts of Canada Society, and owned and operated the Henderson Colleges of Business from 1972 to 1997.
