Alberta Washington Office
The Alberta Office in Washington, D.C. promotes the province's economic and policy interests. Key areas include North American energy and agricultural
trade. Opened on March 22, 2005 and co-located in the Canadian embassy, the four-person office also establishes and builds relationships with high-level decision makers in Alberta's largest and most important market.
Almost 90 percent of Alberta's exports go to the U.S. Of Alberta's top 25 trading partners, 21 are U.S. states. The U.S. is the source of over 60 percent of
Alberta's foreign investment and tourism.
U.S. decisions directly affect many sectors of the Alberta economy and job
market. The increased integration of the North American economy presents opportunities and challenges for Canada and Alberta. The Alberta Washington Office will advise the Government of Alberta on appropriate strategies that maximize benefits for Alberta.
