Selling to Governments Abroad:
International Government Procurement

For all governments, the procurement of goods and services represents a significant portion of total expenditures. For many companies in Alberta and across Canada, selling goods and services to foreign governments represents an important existing and potential market.

Canada's participation in international trade agreements such as NAFTA and the World Trade Organization Agreement on Government Procurement (AGP) assists Canadian companies wishing to sell to foreign governments. These Agreements provide Canadian companies with access to foreign markets and in return foreign companies are allowed to bid on federal government procurement opportunities.

There are no consultations scheduled at this time.

The Government of Alberta continues to solicit Alberta industry views on International Government Procurement and on the Alberta negotiating position. If you have any comments or would like further information on this subject, please contact Shawn Robbins, International and Intergovernmental Relations.
