The following corporate services support the effective delivery of Alberta Economic Development's (AED) Business Plan:
Corporate Communications
Corporate Communications provides communications counsel, expertise and services to the Ministry, department and government to help promote and encourage economic development in Alberta.
Human Resources
In support of AED's goal to create and sustain a high performing team of staff with the skills and expertise to champion and promote the department's vision, the Human Resources Branch develops strategies and implements programs to improve and enhance:
- leadership capabilities (leadership continuity)
- employee capabilities (competency enhancement)
- organizational effectiveness
The Human Resources Branch is also responsible for pay and benefit administration, recruitment, classification, and employee communication as well as recognition programs and training.
Office of the Senior Financial Officer [SFO]
In support of AED's Business Plan, the Office of the SFO is responsible for ensuring prudent financial administration of the department's resources. The SFO oversees all financial services, administrative services and all freedom of information access requests and privacy matters.
