From pests to diseases. Since clubroot first appeared in Alberta in 2003, the incidence of this fungal disease is on the rise; and it’s being found not only in canola fields, but also in other cruciferous crops. A survey conducted this summer of seven commercial vegetable operations in the Edmonton area indicated one of these operations had a localized clubroot infestation. I spoke with Rob Spencer, Irrigated and Specialty Crop Specialist at the Ag Info Centre, about what can be done about this disease.

Interview with Rob Spencer (2:05 minutes) (521 Kb)
