Area Overview
The Town of Killam is located in east-central Alberta in the middle of the Flagstaff
County at the crossroads of two major highway arteries, Highway 13 and 36. Highway
13 is an alternate route to the Yellowhead Trans Canada Highway, linking Edmonton and Winnipeg, while Highway 36 connects the U.S. border and Fort McMurray. Both of these highways are supporting ever-increasing traffic loads created by the active oil & gas
fields in the area, tourist attractions in the Killam area, and the scenic lake country to the north.
Killam offers many amenities found in city settings such as indoor swimming pool, recreation and nature parks, public school, active and auxiliary hospitals, etc., while enjoying the tranquility of rural living.
