Everyone loves Raymond
Area Overview
The Town of Raymond is a community which lies just north of the Canada-U.S. International Boundary. It is just 15-20 minutes south of Alberta's third largest city, Lethbridge, and has a population of 3,200 people.
The community was established in 1901 by Jesse Knight and was named after Jesse Knight's eldest son, Oscar Raymond Knight. In 1902, Raymond Knight organized the first Stampede, which has since become a well known annual event. The event has made Raymond known as the "Home of the First Stampede".

Raymond is situated near a large reservoir, which has camping and water sport facilities, great hunting and fishing, as well as the Devil's Coulee dinosaur fossil sites. It is a central location for regional tourism attractions, such as the Waterton/Glacier International Peace Park, Remmington Carriage Collection, Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park, Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, and the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden.
The Bridge County Raceway is used for stock car racing, while the Temple Hill Motorcross track provides for dirt bike races.
Raymond has an excellent golf course, indoor ice arena, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, ball diamonds, camp kitchens complete with overnight camping facilities and fishing, playgrounds and rodeo and exhibition grounds.

Raymond service clubs include the Raymond Agricultural Society, Brownies, Family & Community Support Services, Figure Skating, 4-H, 4-H Light Horse, Golf Club, Hall of Fame, Historical Society, Judo Club, Legion, Library Board, Lions Club, Minor Football, Minor Hockey, Playhouse Society, Roping Club, Rotary Club, Scouts, Senior Citizens Club, Soccer Association, Softball Association, and the Stampede Association.

Raymond General Hospital has 25 beds, as well as a 20-bed auxiliary and physiotherapy hospital wing.

The Town of Raymond is located in the County of Warner #5, in southern Alberta. It is 34 km south of Lethbridge.

Water Supply
Water is supplied by a gravity-fed system from the Ridge Reservoir. The reservoir capacity, measured in treated substance, is 7,955 cubic metres.
Waste Management
Sewage treatment is provided by a series of lagoons consisting of 4 short and 2 long detention ponds and an evaporation pond.
Residential garbage is collected weekly, while commercial and industrial garbage is collected bi-weekly. There is a transfer station for domestic waste, as well as a recycling facility.
