Premier's Award of Excellence 

Since 1995, the Premier has presented awards annually to teams to promote and recognize superior client service and business practices in the Alberta public service. Today, the award serves as a standard of achievement, and a guide to business excellence practices. The award criteria are based on quality management principles articulated by the National Quality Institute. The criteria also draw on the Alberta public service vision and Alberta government mission, principles and values.

IPAC Award for Innovative Management

The IPAC Award for Innovative Management was established in 1990 to recognize outstanding organizational achievement in the public sector. The award is regarded as one of the highest-prestige recognition programs in the Canadian public sector. It is sponsored by IPAC, IBM Canada and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The theme of the 1999 competition was, “In Pursuit of Effective Performance: Measurement and Recognition."
