Energy Information Centre

The Energy Information Centre supports the core businesses of the department by providing information products and services to clients in industry, the general public, and other public sector organizations.

The Information Centre:

  • Sells Crown Surface and Crown Mineral reports;
  • Sells Metallic and Industrial Mineral Permits, Licences and Leases and Ammonite Shell Agreements;
  • Distributes Energy reports, publications, and business forms.
  • Provides Electronic Transfer System (ETS) Help Desk support.

Media Inquiries

The Communications Branch coordinates government dialog to and from Albertans on key policies and programs. Communications provides the Minister of Energy and the department personnel with access to skills and services including strategic communications planning, issues management, media relations, writing and production.

Resource Land Access
The average width of oil and gas industry seismic lines has been reduced over the past twenty years from over 6 meters to 2.8 meters. In environmentally sensitive areas, seismic lines are very often less than 1 meter wide and where helicopter-assisted seismic programs are used lines may be undetectable.
