 The Technical Services Division of Alberta Agriculture is hosting two information/training sessions on the updated version of the Economic Livestock Impact Calculator next week. Session one is in Leduc on Monday afternoon, followed by a second session in Lethbridge on Tuesday morning. If you’re interested in attending one of these sessions, contact Karen Yakimishyn at (403) 340-5495.

Bruno Wiskel is offering his "Negotiating Seismic Contracts on Private Land" course in Flatbush next week. Call Russ at (780) 681-3929 for more information.

There's a pulse, canola and barley meeting in Three Hills on Wednesday. On the agenda, Canola, Barley and Pulse Commission updates; also a bio-diesel update, integrated crop management, lupin and fababean agronomics, a CAIS update and market overviews. You are asked to pre-register by Monday by calling 1-800-387-6030.

Farm Credit Canada is holding a number of AgriSuccess workshops. There’s one on transferring the family farm next Thursday in Youngstown. And there’s a commodity marketing management workshop in Lethbridge on Thursday and Friday of next week. For information, call 1-888-332-3301 or go to Farm Credit Canada’s website.

Yellowhead County is hosting a "Livestock Emergency Response Planning" seminar on Thursday of next week, getting underway at 12:30 p.m. at the Carrot Creek Community Hall. Topics to be covered include: stressed animal handling and behavior, preparedness for emergencies, prevention, proper response procedures, handler safety, rescue techniques and euthanasia.
