Terms of Reference

The Committee will

  • review and make recommendations on policies, programs and legislation,
  • hear public and private submissions pertaining to health, community development, children’s services, aboriginal affairs, northern development, seniors and community supports programs (AISH and PDD),
  • monitor existing programs, services and legislation, and
  • consider the budgetary implications of each proposal as well as implementation and communications strategies.

The Committee will also review the current budgets of

  • Health and Wellness,
  • Community Development,
  • Children’s Services,
  • Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development, and
  • Seniors and Community Supports

annually in order that Committee members have the opportunity to provide comments and make recommendations for consideration by the Ministers in preparation of the upcoming annual budget and three-year business plans.
