| Albertans interested in learning how to make biodiesel fuel are invited to attend Lakeland College’s award-winning Sunfuel workshop. The processor built by the college’s Enviro Club’s is using the fuel on the college farm and is now in a position to share what was learned. Following the successful September 30 workshop, the college is repeating the workshop on November 18, 2006. The workshop is designed for people who want to know more about the process, particularly if they want to build their own processor. Participants will visit the processor and brew small batches of biodiesel in a chemistry lab. The workshop agenda also includes general biodiesel information, the chemistry process, how to construct a Sunfuel unit, engine trials and troubleshooting. Registration fee is $99 for the day. There’s a $79 rate for high school or post-secondary students. To register, call toll free 1-800-661-6490 extension 8444. Additional information is posted on the Sunfuel website. For further information on the Sunfuel project, contact Arnica Rowan, Lakeland College, (780) 853-8555. |
