Join the Healthy U Crew at the Winter Festival

Lake Louise...It’s easy to get active and eat right.  That’s the message you’ll hear from the Healthy U Crew when they visit the Winter Festival in Lake Louise, one of 17 stops in the 2006 Healthy U Crew winter tour.

On January 28 and 29, the Healthy U Crew will be at the Lake Louise Winter Festival to spread the word about healthy eating and active living through interactive games, contests, and activities like dancing, jumping rope and hula hooping.  The crew will also share tips and ideas for proper hand washing, to help reduce the spread of germs.

“The Healthy U Crew brings important health information to Albertans in new and entertaining ways,” said Iris Evans, Minister of Health and Wellness. “Albertans need to know that it can be easy and fun to stay healthy, even during the winter.  The crew is here to show them how.”

In its third year, the Healthy U Crew consists of two teams of young and energetic Albertans who visit festivals, events and shopping centres throughout the province.  This is the first year that the Healthy U Crew has toured Alberta during the winter.

The Healthy U Crew is part of the province’s Healthy U initiative, a comprehensive information and education program launched in 2002 to encourage Albertans to make healthy choices when it comes to eating and activity.
