Dr. Rigakos also authored the Commission's discussion paper entitled, "In Search of Security: The Roles of Public Police and Private Agencies."

Dr. Rigakos is author of several articles on private policing, criminological theory and violence against women. He is Assistant Professor of Law at Carleton University. Dr. Rigakos is the author of the book published by the University of Toronto Press, entitled The New Parapolice: Risk Markets and Commodified Social Control.  His current research on public and private policing, funded by SSHRC, focuses on Halifax bouncers.
