Premier's Council on the Status of Persons with Disabilities
The Premier's Council aims to improve the lives of persons with disabilities.
We do this by listening to issues of the disability community, and communicating
them to members of government.
On December 3, 2002, to coincide with the International Day of Disabled Persons,
the Premier's Council released the Alberta Disability
Strategy. The goal of the Alberta Disability Strategy is to
create an environment where full citizenship is possible through improvements in
the areas of personal supports, financial supports, learning supports and
employment.
Other publications include the Premier's
Council annual reports, the Alternative
Communications Policy, Removing
Barriers, interpreting standards,
and Disability in
Focus newsletter in
pdf or text
only.
The Premier's Council also presents the Awards of Excellence,
in conjunction with the International Day of Disabled Persons on December 3.
