Alberta hosts the 2007 Western Canada Summer Games! 

Strathcona County will be buzzing with excitement next August as over 2,700 athletes, coaches and officials from across the four western provinces and three territories compete in 9 days of multi-sport, amateur competition.

Athletes ages 12 to 23 will compete in 17 sports and will include athletes with disabilities in athletics, swimming and tennis.

 

NEW!!!  VOLUNTEER MISSION STAFF POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Team Alberta is seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals to participate as Mission Staff for the 2007 Western Canada Summer Games. 

The Games are Western Canada’s largest amateur multi-sport event and plays a prominent role in developing some of Canada’s premier athletes.   

Mission Staff have a key role as members of Team Alberta; acting as a liaison between individual sports and all components of the Western Canada Games organizational structure.  Up to 15 Mission Staff members representing a blend of volunteers and professional staff from a wide cross section of the sport and recreation community in Alberta will be selected. 

Mission Staff members are volunteers who do not receive payment for their services or compensation for time off work.  However, meals, accommodation and transportation to and from the Games will be provided.  Mission Staff are required to attend all mission meetings and must be available for the inclusive duration of the Games.  A brief overview of specific qualifications and responsibilities are included in the application form.
