Health Region Flu Activity Levels
 

Week 46 - November 12 to 18, 2006

 Widespread

Sporadically occuring ILI and confirmed influenza* together with outbreaks of ILI in schools and worksites, or laboratory confirmed influenza in residential institutions occurring in greater than or equal to 50% of the influenza surveillance region(s)*.

 Localized

Sporadically occuring ILI and confirmed influenza* together with outbreaks of ILI in schools and worksites, or laboratory confirmed influenza in residential institutions occurring in less than 50% of the influenza surveillance region(s)**, e.g. an outbreak in one nursing home.

 Sporadic

Sporadically occuring ILI and confirmed influenza* with no outbreaks within the influenza surveillance region.

 No Activity

 No Report

Health Regions, effective April 1, 2003

* Confirmation of influenza within the surveillance region at any time within the prior 4 weeks.
** Sub-regions within the province or territory as defined by the provincial/territorial epidemiologist.
