| The 12th annual Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) conference will take place November 15 to 17, 2006, in Canmore, Alberta.
“This year, the theme is Taking Care of Safety is Good Business,” says Lauel Aitken, farm safety coordinator, Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, Edmonton. “The conference is an opportunity for industry professionals, farm owners and employees to discuss agricultural injury prevention from a risk-management perspective.”
Presentations will cover:
- minimizing risk on the farm
- improving business efficiencies and employee motivation with a safety program
- how changes in Occupational Health and Safety law across Canada will impact personal and corporate liability
“As well, there will be panel discussions with farm owners on improving and implementing safety at the farm level,” says Aitken. “The conference will be a great opportunity for farmers and safety professionals to discuss research and practical applications of safety practices on the farm.”
Registration for the event is $200 for CASA members and $250 for non-members. This includes all breakfast, lunches and banquet events. Accomodation is extra. To register or to get more information, visit the CASA website at www.casa-acsa.ca or call Laurel Aitken at (780) 427-4231.
