The Dine Alberta (DA) website (www.dinealberta.ca) is launching a new look. It features individualized menus for consumer, producer and chef. A new searchable producer directory on the DA website lists 111 producers. This is a convenient resource that chefs and consumers can use to source Alberta-grown ingredients and products. This year, 110 restaurants are participating in Dine Alberta, including for the first time participation by cooking schools and Bed & Breakfast establishments. Caterers joined the DA team last year. To get a head start on the DA experience, the Dine Alberta 2006 Passport has been posted on-line at www.dinealberta.ca, and is also available after August 10, 2006, at Travel Alberta Information Centres, Edmonton Tourism, Tourism Calgary or by calling (780) 968-3519 to receive a copy in the mail. For further information on Dine Alberta 2006, contact Marlene Abrams, network development specialist, regional cuisine initiative, Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, Stony Plain, (780) 968-3519.
