Peace Country farmers and ranchers are invited to attend Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) workshops and get a jump on future funding applications under the Canada Alberta Farm Stewardship Program (CAFSP). It's important farmers and ranchers know the process if their objective is seeking CAFSP funding. Although information on the CAFSP is provided at EFP workshops, the CAFSP application process is actually a separate one, administered by a completely different organization. The next free, half-day AEFP workshop is being held at the MD of Fairview office on August 16, 2006, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Workshop I provides an overview of the newly formatted EFP workbook binder. This workshop is followed by Workshop II being held on August 23, 2006, where producers will get the rest of the information needed to complete their EFP. Gerard Aldridge, rural extension specialist for the municipalities of Clear Hills, Fairview and Peace (CHFP) is accepting EFP workshop registrations by telephone at the MD of Fairview office, (780) 835-4903. Producers can also register by calling AEFP workshop facilitator, Yvonne Marshall-MacRae at (780) 353-2645.
