Woodlot Workshops

 The Woodlot Extension Program of Alberta is holding two workshops in the Peace area:
  • August 28, 2006 - Valleyview, (M.D. of Greenview Field Services Office)
    Topics covered will include: tree crops, agroforestry, riparian management, shelterbelts, sawmilling, woodlot management planning.
    Contact: Doug Macaulay, woodlot extension specialist, Peace River (780) 624-6425.
  • Thursday, August 31, 2006 - Manning, (NPARA office)
    The workshop will include a tour of the Murdoch Lake demonstration site (established 2002), where forages have been combined with tree farming, and Cypress Hill Woodlot Demo.

  • September 9, 2006 - Elkwater (Community Hall)
    Site visits will address fire management, wildlife, private land issues, forestry, agro-forestry business opportunities.and more.
