| July 9 through 16, 2006, marked the completion of the first 2006 Selections Award Trip. Mat Bolduc, Steven Litwin, Kenda Lopaschuk and Amanada Miller proudly represented Alberta 4-H at the 2006 Montana 4-H Congress. Chaperone Janet Kerr led the delegation on their journey to the congress in Bozeman, Montana. Over nine days, the group traveled nearly 3,000 kilometres by van to participate in the four-day event.
Activities at the Montana congress included workshops, contests and a talent show. The Alberta delegates were surprised and delighted by the dances that were held on all three nights. They met Montana members and leaders, who were all intrigued to learn about Alberta 4-H. It proved to be a great information exchange with members of Montana's 4-H program.
During the trip, the delegates visited points of interest enjoyed trip highlights such as white water rafting and a tour of the Lewis and Clark Caverns. Trip delegate Amanda Miller said, "It was a trip full of laughs. By the end of nine days the group had really bonded."
Delegates for the Montana 4-H Congress are selected each year from 130 of the top 4-H senior members at the Provincial Selections Program. This trip is sponsored by the Alberta 4-H Program Trust and ITS Travel and Cruise Centre.
