ALBERTA FUEL TAX ACT INFORMATION CIRCULAR - PROPANE RETAILERS:
TAX RATES AND EFFECTIVE DATES

This information circular sets out the current fuel tax rates on propane.

  1. The current rates of fuel tax to be charged by propane retailers are:

Propane sold through automotive dispensing equipment
- 6.5 cents per litre 

Propane sold for non-motive use through other equipment (portable cylinders)
- nil 

This rate has been in effect since April 7, 1991.
