September 30, 2003 Annual reports show how government addresses priorities Edmonton… Albertans can see firsthand how priorities are addressed and tax dollars are spent through the 2002-03 Ministry Annual Reports released today by the provincial government. Each ministry develops strategic priorities in support of the government’s core businesses of People, Prosperity and Preservation. The annual reports show how the ministries addressed their strategic priorities in 2002-03. Annual reports include an accounting of performance targets and outcomes, and financial statements. The annual reports are a requirement of the Government Accountability Act, which has been in place since 1998. The act was designed to improve overall public accountability and allow Albertans to see how their tax dollars are working for them. The reports are available from each ministry and on this website - see the Ministry Annual Reports page.
