Investment management meetings slated for Revenue Minister

Edmonton... Visits to the offices of external investment managers and major institutional investors comprise the bulk of Revenue Minister Greg Melchin’s schedule when he travels to Toronto, New York and Connecticut next week.

“I look forward to discussing the ongoing business partnerships Alberta has established to manage the province’s $39 billion investment operation,” Melchin said.  “It is important to meet with peer investment organizations, external investment management service providers and others in the investment industry to support our mandate.”

Melchin will be in Toronto on June 25-26 to meet with officials from the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan and external investment management service providers.  

While in New York and Connecticut on June 27 and 28 respectively, Melchin will meet with officials from various investment management firms, including Alliance Bernstein, J.P. Morgan, Equinox Capital Management, Deutsche Asset Management and GE Asset Management.

Traveling with Melchin is his executive assistant.  Total cost of the trip is approximately $7,600.
