Annual Report - A "first" for Alberta Revenue

Edmonton... Alberta Revenue has reported on its first fiscal year. The ministry's inaugural Annual Report includes performance results and financial statements for the past fiscal year, and outlines the ministry's goals, core business and operational structure.

"The past year has brought a host of opportunities, challenges, and significant successes," said Revenue Minister Greg Melchin. "We played a lead role in the planning and delivery of the Alberta Future Summit 2002, initiated a review of the province's savings policies, including the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund's mandate, and we began to develop an integrated revenue framework that will bring a long-term strategic perspective to the province's revenue streams."

The ministry was established in March 2001, after a government reorganization saw the former Treasury department split into Revenue and Finance.
