Interest rates set for Alberta Capital Bonds/Savings Certificates

Alberta Capital Bonds and Savings Certificates rates have been set for the interest period December 1, 1997 to May 31, 1998. Rates will apply as follows:

• 1997 floating rate certificates will pay 3.25 per cent
• 1996 bonds will pay 3.25 per cent
• 1995 bonds will pay 3.25 per cent
• 1994 bonds will pay 3.25 per cent.

Guaranteed minimum rates that were set when the bonds were issued apply to the following:

• 1993 bonds will pay 5.00 per cent.

In the event of postal disruption, arrangements will be made to have investors pick up their interest cheques for 1993, 1994 and 1995 Alberta Capital Bonds at selected Alberta Treasury Branches locations throughout the province.
