The Standards Council of Canada offers a series of introductory training workshops to help committee members adapt to the ever-changing and challenging environment of their standards-related work. WORKSHOP SCHEDULE & REGISTRATION Workshops FeesNo charge for members of Council, Council advisory committees, members of Canadian Advisory Committees and Canadian Subcommittees, members of Joint Technical Committee on Information Technology, and members of task and/or working groups. Other participants: Full day $395; Half day $249 Group Rates: Will vary depending on size and frequency. Payment will be by major credit card. Registration information for workshopsHours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm for full-day workshops, 8:30 am to 1:00 pm for half-day workshops Dress: Dress as you wish. If a suit is your style, that is fine. If you would rather wear jeans and a sweatshirt, that is fine too. We recommend bringing a sweater or jacket since meeting rooms heating/air conditioning is sometimes unpredictable. Expect the workshop to be participatory. There are many group and individual exercises, case studies and samples to critique. Because you will be with people from other organizations, there will be an opportunity to learn from each other as well as from the workshop leader. We will change groups occasionally so you meet and work with many people. We invite questions, comments and even rebuttal at any time you wish (and only if you wish). We will not throw questions at you or put you on the spot. Workshop participants will receive: Course manual containing charts and information for your future reference After-hours consultation from SCC staff members Optional one-to-one discussion with the instructor available at the start and end of the workshop Certificate of attendance
Cancellation policyIndividuals wishing to cancel their registration are asked to contact SCC 48 hours prior to the start of the workshop. This will allow us to provide others with an opportunity to attend. Most of our workshops have waiting lists. Additionally, for paying customers, this will allow us to process a refund against your credit card. The minimum and maximum class participation is specified in each course description. Workshops are subject to cancellation should attendance be less than the required minimum.
