Aerospace & Defence

On September 20, the government announced that the Technology Partnerships Canada (TPC) program will be wound down.

New Aerospace and Defence (A&D) Project Outlines
A&D outlines will continue to be accepted pending the outcome of the Government's decision on A&D sector support.

Canadian companies are involved in many aspect of the aerospace and defence sector. From the design and construction of complete systems and aircrafts, to the fabrication of components used by large multi-national companies, from technologies used in simulation and training exercises to the maintenance and repair of existing systems, Canadian companies are working in an immensely diverse field.

With over 700 companies across the country, employing over 75,000 people, Canada is a world leader in the aerospace and defence sector.

The Government of Canada recognizes that our world-class aerospace and defence industry is a critical driver of wealth, jobs and opportunities for Canadians. In order to protect those opportunities, it is important that we facilitate the continued development of our aerospace and defence industry.

Through Technology Partnerships Canada, the Government of Canada is partnering in research and development with those aerospace and defence companies, ensuring that the jobs and benefits of that R&D stay in Canada and provide continued benefits to Canada.

TPC is also supporting projects by Canadian companies taking part in the multinational Joint Strike Fighter program. The goal of this program is to develop a new line-up of fighter jets that minimizes fabrication and life cycle costs.
