FedNor Northern Ontario Development Program | ||
Human CapitalFedNor is committed to working with private and public partners towards providing Northerners, including women, youth, aboriginal and francophone populations, with the training and employment opportunities they need to succeed in a knowledge-based economy. FedNor knows that Northern Ontario’s success can be attributed to its people. FedNor also recognizes that the government must support initiatives that ensure the opportunity exists for people to remain and grow in their respective communities with the skills and networks to succeed in their current local economy. One example of Human Capital is FedNor’s Youth Internship Program. Through this program FedNor assists employers to provide recent post-secondary school graduates with valuable experience within both not-for-profit organizations engaged in economic development and with small businesses related to innovation. It is expected that these internships will lead to permanent employment within Northern Ontario curbing out-migration and nourishing the future. For more information on FedNor support for Human Capital projects, contact your local FedNor officer. |
