Established in October 1994, the Women's Enterprise Centre of Manitoba (WECM) is a non-profit organization funded by Western Economic Diversification Canada and dedicated to helping entrepreneurial women start and grow their businesses. The WECM offers innovative support and opportunities throughout Manitoba, including business advices, seminars, and business loans.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants can be sole proprietors, partnerships or corporations, but businesses have to be 50% or more woman-owned and controlled.

The head office of the business must be located in Manitoba.
Eligible Activities
Eligible activities are the establishment, the purchase or the expansion of a business in Manitoba.
Summary
Business Advice
Business advice is provided on subjects such as new business feasibility, business plan development, start-up procedures, marketing strategies, and expansion planning.
Business Loans
The Loan Program offers many benefits including:
- no application or monthly fees;
- competitive interest rates;
- no minimum loan amount;
- no cost or penalties for early repayment;
- flexible equity and collateral security requirements;
- business planning assistance;
- maximum loan of $100,000; and
- terms of up to five years.
What it does not cover?
The WECM does not provide financing for multi-level marketing ventures, independent agents and/or direct sellers, purchase of goodwill, owner's salary, refinancing of existing debt, or purchase of buildings.
