Elizabeth MacPherson who was Tribunal's Executive Director and
General Counsel until April 1999 has completed her master thesis in
August 1999 on the following topic: "Collective bargaining for independent
contractors: is the Status of the Artist Act a model for other
industrial sectors?" Ms. MacPherson has given permission to post her thesis.
Lorraine Farkas, Director, Planning, Research and Communications of the
Tribunal wrote an article entitled "Self-employed workers and collective
bargaining" published in the Workplace Gazette (1999 Vol.2, No.2
