Medical DevicesThe three documents you find in this section, Why Canadian Medical Devices?, Technology Infrastructure Support, Guide to Establishing an Investment in Canada's Medical Device Sector provide detailed information regarding the Medical Device industry. The first report, Why Canadian Medical Devices? summarizes what makes Canada’s Medical Device industry an attractive area in which to invest. Technology Infrastructure Support is a study conducted by an independent third party that provides detail regarding the industries whose technologies support the development of the Medical Device industry in Canada. It first provides an overview of the Canadian Technology sector and the efforts the federal government has made to assist the development of the industry. Next, it examines key areas within medical devices that are particular strengths in Canada, including Imaging, Biochips, Genomics, and Photonics. Published in March 2001, the Guide to Establishing an Investment in Canada's Medical Device Sector, is a document that was prepared under contract for Industry Canada. This document is intended to be an information tool for foreign medical device companies to help introduce Canada as a potential investment opportunity. The topics covered are not meant to be all encompassing but are intended to cover the critical first-line questions that must be addressed prior to considering Canada as a place to invest. ![]() |
