Electronic Commerce in Canada

About Us

The Electronic Commerce Branch is responsible for encouraging the development and adoption of e-business in Canada.

We accomplish this through three main lines of business:

    Policy Development and Implementation
Our work helps to establish an orderly marketplace and provides a favourable legal and regulatory environment for e-commerce.

    International Development
We promote the use of e-commerce as an enabler to trade in a global environment and we develop international policy frameworks to promote ICTs for Development.

    Strategies for e-Business Development
We concentrate on developing strategies, building private and public sector partnerships, and developing research and statistical data in order to promote the deployment of e-Business across the Canadian economy.
