MAJOR PROJECTS INVENTORY UPDATE

The British Columbia government's Major Projects Inventory continues to climb to record high levels according to the latest update in September, 2006. The MPI tracks the growth of large-scale construction projects in the province. There are now a record 783 capital projects worth an estimated $109.9 billion planned or underway in B.C. [Read more]

VANCOUVER – Economic Development Minister Colin Hansen has announced that a new Performance and Accountability Agreement has been signed with VANOC as part of a response to recommendations made in the Auditor General’s review and a due diligence report on venue construction from Partnerships BC.

IMMIGRATION AGREEMENT ATTRACTS ENTREPRENEURS TO B.C.

BURNABY – The Honourable Monte Solberg, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, and the Honourable Colin Hansen, Economic Development Minister for British Columbia, announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that will help speed up the process for immigrant entrepreneurs to get to British Columbia.

The Ministry of Economic Development is the primary provincial agency for creating a strong, prosperous and diverse provincial economy.
