New Employer Visits

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)

Last Verified: 2004-11-09

Personalized visits to new employers help them to understand withholding procedures and to solve any trust accounts problems they may have.

Eligibility Criteria

Clients have to be employers who have opened a new account with the department.

Summary

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) officials are available, on request, to visit new employers on their own premises. This service provides new employers with a chance to discuss concerns they may have about recording, withholding, or reporting requirements for employee earnings, income tax, Canada Pension Plan, or Employment Insurance contributions.

CRA staff can also provide advice on GST/HST filing requirements, inform new businesses about challenges they may encounter, and advise them on where to get information and assistance from us when they need it.

For additional details, or if you are interested in taking advantage of this program, please contact the Tax Service Office closest to you (see Related Reading: Business Window - Supplement or CRA's Web site for a list of offices).
