Public Notice 1996-4

Application for Certification:
Association québécoise des réalisateurs et réalisatrices de cinéma et de télévision, (AQRRCT)
Tribunal File No. 95-0020-A

In accordance with subsection 25(3) of the Status of the Artist Act, the Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal hereby gives notice that it has received an application from the "Association québécoise des réalisateurs et réalisatrices de cinéma et de télévision" for certification to represent, with respect to all producers subject to the Status of the Artist Act, a sector composed of:

  1. any director domiciled in or a resident of the province of Québec who directs an audio-visual production in the French language or in any language other than an original English language production;

  2. any director who directs an audio-visual production in the French language or in any language other than an original English language production where all or part of the shooting takes place in the province of Québec;

including all double shooting, any international shooting and any audio-visual work without dialogue.

Any artists' association that wishes to make a competing application for certification in respect of the same sector or any part of the same sector must file its application for certification no later than May 13, 1996. Competing applications for certification should be sent to the address below.

Any artist, artists' association or producer affected by this application wishing to make representations to the Tribunal regarding the proposed sector must notify the Tribunal in writing of their interest no later than May 13, 1996.

Any artist or artists' association affected by this application wishing to make representations to the Tribunal regarding the representativeness of the applicant must notify the Tribunal in writing of their interest no later than May 13, 1996.
