Trade Team Canada Sectors (TTCS) bring government and industry together to coordinate national trade development planning and activities in key industries. These industries include:

• Aerospace and Defence;
• Agriculture, Food and Beverages;
• Automotive;
• Bio-Industries;
• Building Products;
• Cultural Goods and Services;
• Electric Power Equipment and Services;
• Environmental Industries;
• Health Industries;
• Information and Communications Technologies;
• Oil & Gas Equipment and Services;
• Plastics; and
• Service Industries.

Approximately 50 % of TTCS membership is drawn from the private sector - representatives from sector associations and companies, who ensure that industry interests and needs drive team initiatives. The balance of membership includes federal and provincial government sector experts, and Trade Commissioners at home and abroad from the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT).

The key role of the TTCSs is to develop sectoral trade development strategies and annual action plans. Through their participation in TTCSs, team members work to develop consensus on strategic priorities, decrease overlap and duplication in programs and activities, and share resources towards agreed goals. Through the trade promotion activities which TTCSs plan and implement, they help Canadian companies take on the world. They can help your company by:

• opening doors and providing contacts through trade missions, trade fairs, and matchmaking events; 
• providing information about target markets, and intelligence about business opportunities; 
• and showcasing Canadian capabilities abroad.

Eleven of the 13 Trade Team Canada Sectors identified here are managed by Industry Canada, while the Agriculture, Food, and Beverages team is managed by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), and the Cultural Goods and Services team is managed by the Department of Canadian Heritage.
