First Nation Home Occupants guide to Mold is a brochure produced by CMHC, Health Canada, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) and the Assembly of First Nations (AFN).

This brochure has basic information about:

  • Preventing mold from growing
  • Finding out if mold is growing in the house
  • Cleaning up small amounts of mold


It also includes room-by-room advice on controlling moisture and mold in the home and outside the home. Home occupants who are concerned about mold can follow the steps provided to clean up minor mold problems and prevent any further mold growth.
