Canadian Environmental Solutions is a directory of Canadian companies providing technologies, products and services to address the environmental challenges that face every sector of the economy. Users can search companies listed by sector (e.g. air pollution control, greenhouse gas reduction, recycling) or alphabetically. Eligible companies can also register online.
Canada's Clean Energy portal was established in January 2003 by the CANMET Energy Technology Centre — Ottawa, of Natural Resources Canada, and Industry Canada. The portal was designed to help non-Canadian and Canadian visitors navigate the vast resources and information about Canada's expertise and innovative climate change and clean energy industry. Check the Canadian Technology Directory for a listing of Canadian companies by sector, such as alternative fuels and transportation technologies. Find information on financing or industry associations. Or read up on international and Canadian activities, initiatives and events.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the private sector's way of integrating the economic, social and environmental imperatives of their activities. GeoConnections is a national partnership initiative involving the private and public sectors (including Industry Canada), academia, and non-governmental organizations. Its goal is to provide Canadians with geospatial data, tools and services over the Internet. Geospatial data pinpoints the locations of items of special concern — cities, schools, roadways, electoral boundaries — that can be defined geographically.
This website includes sources for maps, satellite images and aerial photos; a searchable database of Canadian and international organizations that provide geospatial data, services and expertise; a searchable listing of GeoConnections projects; success stories; a list of the initiative's partners; a media room; opportunities; programs and committees; and publications.
Renewable energy is already contributing to Canada's energy mix. We have developed internationally recognized leadership in a number of areas, including innovative biofuel technologies, wind-diesel and wind-hydrogen systems, and solar technologies like integrated photovoltaic systems.
