Welcome to Industry Canada's Renewable Energy Site

Canada is blessed with vast natural resources and abundant supplies of water, solar, wind, biomass and earth energy. All of these resources can be used as renewable sources of energy. Canada's renewable energy industry is expected to expand significantly over the coming years. This represents an opportunity for Canadian businesses to develop and commercialize new and competitive technologies, to manufacture products and offer services in support of a growing industry.

Industry Canada supports the development and demonstration of renewable energy technologies. We conduct research to assess the economic opportunities this is creating for Canada, the domestic manufacturing capacity to support the renewable energy industry, and investment opportunities.

This site offers information on Canada's renewable energy industries, the technologies they use, Canadian company capabilities, and manufacturing and investment opportunities.

This site also highlights private and public sector efforts to reach Canada's climate change goals through innovative renewable energy technology deployment.
