Logistics

Logistics is the process of planning, implementing and controlling the flow and storage of goods and services and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption. Supply chain management provides supervision and direction for the various parts of the distribution system including production scheduling and inventory control, transportation, warehousing, wholesaling, retailing and brokerage.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Beyond Customer Mandate
This joint research project conducted by Industry Canada, Supply Chain & Logistics Canada (SCL) and industry leaders across sectors aims to provide guidance to small and medium-sized enterprises and their large customers about the benefits of supply chain industrial sustainability and RFID applications beyond customer mandates. The Canadian Supply Chain Efficiency Smart Border Study Overview
The overview is a Lean Logistics Technology Roadmap Initiative. The report reviews the latest trends and evaluate the impact, opportunity and barriers of smart border for Canadian companies.

The Strategic Human Resources Study of the Supply Chain Sector (Fall 2005)
A report funded by the Government of Canada’s Sector Council Program, builds upon, and continues the work initiated by, the Lean Logistics Technology Roadmap project. It is an indepth national research study aimed at developing a common industry vision for, and a co-operative approach to address, the current and future human resources challenges of the supply chain sector.
