Canadian Industrial Designs Database

The Canadian Industrial Designs Database contains bibliographic, text, and image data. This initial phase covers Canadian Industrial Designs registered from June 15, 2002, to the present. CIPO is in the process of completing the capture of the remaining Industrial Design registrations, i.e. from inception to mid-June 2002, for inclusion in this database.

This database is for information purposes only. Not all documents pertaining to the registration of Industrial Design rights are available in this database. For legal purposes, it is recommended that the relevant documents at CIPO be consulted. Business decisions should not be made based on this search alone.

This database does not provide the full legal status of the industrial design documents. Recent updates, corrections or changes may not be included, as the information is only updated weekly. A "grace period" practice to allow mail to go through the system can delay information for at least six weeks and affect administrative status and maintenance fee information.

Conditions of Use

The Industrial Designs Database is intended for use by the general public. Due to limitations of equipment and bandwidth, it is not intended to be a source for bulk downloads of Canadian Industrial Design data. Clients who, in effect, deny service to the general public by generating unusually high numbers (1000 or more) of daily database accesses may be denied access to the Canadian Industrial Designs Database server without further notice.

The Canadian Industrial Design Database has been developed by CIPO to provide users with extensive information on Canadian Industrial Designs registered from June 15, 2002, to the present.

You should also note that CIPO does not collect information about search entries or results obtained by individual users of the site.

This site has net links to other sites over which CIPO has no control and CIPO is not responsible for the accuracy, timeliness or completeness of any data on any of those sites.

CIPO is not liable to users for any damages of any kind relating to use of this site or information collected from this site or linked sites, including, but not limited to, indirect, special or consequential damages (including lost profits or savings).
