Arrival And Check-In

  • Terminal 1 is equipped with a total of 83 designated disabled parking spaces on all levels, except on level 8.
  • Terminal 2 is equipped with 41 designated disabled parking spaces located closest to the terminal on level 2 and 12 located near the pedestrian bridge on level 3.
  • Terminal 3 is equipped with a total of 21 designated disabled parking spaces located near the elevator lobby or hotel entrance on all levels.
  • Short-term parking provides 2 designated disabled parking spaces.
  • Long-term parking reduced rate lot, which is located across Terminal 3, provides disabled parking spaces near the exit booth.
  • LINK Inter-terminal and parking buses offer free 24-hour shuttle bus service between all terminals at the following locations: Terminal 1, Arrivals level, columns C1/E3; Terminal 2, Departures level, columns 7/17/33; and Terminal 3, Departures level, columns 15/31. Buses are clearly marked and display which terminals they serve, and an internal voice messaging system indicates the route of the bus. Buses are all low floor/accessible.
  • Terminal 1 is equipped with courtesy phones, identified with the international accessibility pictogram and a white "i" in an orange circle (used at Pearson to denote customer service points), which are clearly visible throughout the departures level inner curb, as well as with intercoms available in the parking garage vestibules. The phones connect to the Terminal Specialist call centre 24 hours a day.
  • All Terminal 1 counters are designed for wheelchair accessibility, while counters in Terminals 2 and 3 are either accessible or non-accessible.
  • Terminal 1 currently has 2 Information Centres located on the Departures level, and 2 on Arrivals, as well as smaller centres beyond Security.

Personal Assistance

  • Toronto Pearson has an Airport Customer Assistance Program (ACAP) that provides point-to-point transportation and assistance for persons with disabilities as well as for others who require assistance.
  • The services consist of wheelchair and attendant assistance throughout Terminal 1 and 2 from the garage or the curb to the check-in counter. This service can be pre-arranged by calling (416) 776-9919, by emailing acap@gtaa.com or completing the request form for assistance under the ACAP Program at www.gtaa.com.

TTY Phones

  • Terminal 1 is equipped with a total of 63 TTY phones located throughout and identified by the international TTY pictogram at each bank of pay-phones.
  • Terminals 2 and 3 are equipped with a total of 76 TTY phones located throughout and identified by the international TTY pictogram at each bank of pay-phones.
  • All 139 TTY phones are clearly identified by the international pictogram. In addition, the pay-phone banks where there is not a TTY have arrows or directional signage to indicate the location of nearest TTY.

Wayfinding For People With Visual Impairments

  • All elevators, escalators, washrooms and emergency exits are equipped with Braille signage in all terminals.
  • Directory boards located in Terminal 1 are bright and large.

Washrooms

  • All washrooms at the airport's terminals are wheelchair accessible.

Accessible Local Transportation Serving the Airport

Name of Service Provider: GTAA licensed vehicle fleet for wheelchair accessible vans, taxis and limousines
Telephone: The accessible vans remain on the airport grounds until they are requested by the Curbside Dispatcher on behalf of a passenger. The vehicles are dispatched on a first come first serve basis regardless of the terminal.
Description of Service: Provides transportation services using 6 wheelchair accessible vans which are part of the GTAA's authorized fleet of vehicles. No advance notice required.
