How to participate

Who can participate

An applicant interested in submitting a project proposal to the program must be a non-profit Canadian legal entity. The organization must be Francophone and/or Acadian with a local, regional or national scope, and must have the skills and abilities required to manage or develop and implement a project for French-speaking Canadians. An applicant may be an institution, association, federation, municipality, non-profit organization or municipal corporation. The non-profit organization must exist for at least one year before submitting a proposal.

How to participate

The Francommunautés virtuelles Program is currently accepting project submissions for its 2005-2007 and 2006-2008 competitions.

For more information on the types of projects funded by the Program, consult the Achievements link or the Projects in Progress link, which provides an overview of soon-to-be-implemented digital Web projects.

To find out if you can submit a project proposal and how to do it, you can download the Project Proposal Guide in PDF format (466kb). (Call for proposals -2005-2007 and 2006-2008 competitions)

If your organization and project meet the criteria set by the Francommunautés virtuelles program and noted in the Project Proposal Guide, please download the application form in MS Word. Save a copy of the form and fill it out as directed by the Project Proposal Guide.

Then submit your project proposal by e-mail and send the original by postal mail or courier, with supporting documents such as letters patent, to the following address:

Francommunautés virtuelles Program
Industry Canada, Heritage Building
155 Queen Street, 7th floor, Room 719
Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H5

For logistical reasons, do not send your proposal by fax. Any project proposal sent by fax will automatically be rejected.
