Canada’s Citizenship Week: October 16–22, 2006
Canada’s Citizenship Week is celebrated each year during the third week of October. This celebration is an opportunity to recognize the value of citizenship and immigration. During this week, we focus on the privileges, rights and responsibilities of citizenship.

Celebrate Citizenship Year Round
Although Canada’s Citizenship Week falls in October, citizenship is a concept that deserves to be celebrated throughout the year. We have developed year-round resources for teachers and youth leaders working with children between the ages of 5 and 18. Order your materials now. Find events celebrating citizenship in your area.

Reaffirmation Ceremonies
If you are already a Canadian citizen, you can participate in a reaffirmation ceremony. This ceremony is a formal event where participants repeat the oath of citizenship to express their commitment to Canada. How about organizing a citizenship reaffirmation ceremony for your school or group?

Citizenship Ceremonies
Community groups across Canada, working with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), have hosted citizenship ceremonies for more than 50 years. Find out more about hosting a citizenship ceremony.
