The objective of this project is the deployment of the D.R.I.V.E.S. TM service in Montreal.

D.R.I.V.E.S. is a real-time traffic information service. A colour-coded map identifies traffic conditions: green means the traffic is moving well, yellow means that it is moving slowly, and red means that the traffic is very slow or stopped. At a glance, users can spot the traffic delays and identify where the congestion is located and how far it extends.

The D.R.I.V.E.S. Montreal service is now available at www.drivesmontreal.ca to both businesses and individual users at no charge. D.R.I.V.E.S. Toronto is also available at www.drivestoronto.ca.

The information is up to date within a few minutes, whereas incidents reported through a fax distribution system or cell phone reports can be up to 40 minutes old. The D.R.I.V.E.S. map automatically updates every 10 minutes. Click the refresh button and get up to the minute information.
